Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using VisualsEffect Studio (the "Service") at visualseffect.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. The Service

VisualsEffect Studio provides AI-powered image and video generation tools that route prompts to third-party model providers (including fal.ai and Replicate). Generated content is stored in your library for your continued access.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity on your account. We use third-party authentication (Clerk) — their terms also apply when you sign in.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

• Generate content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
• Generate non-consensual sexual content, content depicting minors in any sexualised context, or other prohibited categories under the underlying model providers' policies
• Generate content intended to defame, harass, threaten, or impersonate a real person
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, billing, or access controls
• Resell or redistribute Service access
• Use automated scrapers or unauthorised clients

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations without prior notice.

5. Ownership of generated content

You retain ownership of the generated outputs you create using the Service, subject to the underlying model providers' licence terms. You grant VisualsEffect a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, and (if you opt in by clicking Share) publicly display your generations on visualseffect.com.

Generated content shared publicly via /g/[id] URLs or appearing in /explore remains your property; we display it with attribution back to the platform.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans (Creator $29/month, Studio $99/month) are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Stripe-hosted Billing Portal, accessible from your account.

Refunds: we offer pro-rated refunds within 7 days of the most recent charge if you haven't used substantial generation credits. Email refund requests to the contact address below.

Price changes: we may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice via email before your next renewal.

7. Rate limits

Generation requests are rate-limited per plan tier. Limits are enforced server-side. Limits may change as we tune capacity.

8. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties (fal.ai, Replicate, Stripe, Clerk, Upstash, Vercel). Their availability is outside our control. We are not liable for outages or content decisions by those providers.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be suitable for any particular purpose. Use at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VisualsEffect's total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
