Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you use VisualsEffect Studio we collect:

• Account info via Clerk: email, name (if provided), OAuth provider IDs (Google/GitHub/Facebook/Apple)
• Generation prompts and outputs: text prompts you submit, reference images you upload, and the AI-generated images/videos returned
• Billing info via Stripe: payment method, billing address, transaction history. We never see or store your full card number.
• Usage telemetry via Vercel Analytics: page views, device type, country (no personally identifiable IPs)

2. Why we collect it

• Account info — to authenticate you
• Prompts and outputs — to render the Service and keep your Library accessible
• Billing info — to process subscription payments and remember your subscription state
• Usage telemetry — to understand which features are valuable and improve the product

3. Where it lives

Data is stored with our infrastructure providers:

• Clerk — authentication records (US)
• Upstash Redis — subscription state, generation metadata (US East, Vercel marketplace)
• Vercel Blob — generated image/video files (US East, public bucket)
• Stripe — billing records (US/EU)
• fal.ai / Replicate — prompts are transiently sent to model providers for inference; they may retain logs per their own privacy policies

4. Public visibility of generated content

By default, generations you create are accessible via their unique /g/[id] URL if someone has the link, and appear in the public /explore feed. The link contains a random ID and isn't enumerable, but it's not private.

If you don't want a generation to be publicly findable, delete it from your Library — that also removes it from /explore.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use only essential cookies (set by Clerk for authentication and Stripe for checkout). We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which collect anonymous, aggregated metrics without using third-party cookies.

6. Your rights

You can:

• Access — see everything in your Library and the Clerk dashboard
• Export — download any generation from your Library
• Delete — remove generations one by one, or email us to delete your entire account
• Object / restrict — email us to limit how we process your data

Account deletion takes effect within 30 days; backups may take longer to purge.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We don't knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
