WebThe church, consecrated in 1668, was originally Tynemouth Parish Church. Tombstones include that of a former vicar, Thomas Dockwray (d.1681), members of the Howlett family, of a Collingwood whose family vault was in the churchyard, and of Edward Hodgson (d.1690), a cordwainer who was one of the church's founders.
