Orvieto is more of a typical hilltown, with more secular sites, plus a lovely Duomo. Both towns have good inns, restaurants, small stone lanes and quality shopping for crafts, etc. Really you can't go wrong.

WebOrvieto and Assisi were both beautiful. The guide in Assisi did a great job. The other guide was only average. There were so many more things she could have shared about Orvieto. The lunch was awful. We drove a good distance to get to the place and the food was not good. I would skip the lunch to have more time in either Orvieto or Assisi.
